Under the Ministry of the Environment’s (MOE’s) Toxics Reduction Act (TRA), a licensed toxics reduction planner must review a toxics reduction plan, make recommendations to it and provide the rationale for the recommendations, and certify it.
In May and June 2012 the MOE conducted on-line and in-class courses, including a final exam, for those wishing to become certified toxics reduction planners. In June 2012, two Enviro-Stewards staff successfully completed the course and are now certified planners: Lloyd Hipel, P. Eng (license No. TSRP0211) and Deepak Adhikari, P. Eng (license No. TSRP0109).
Bruce Taylor, President of Enviro-Stewards, was one of the lead instructors for several of the in-class sessions. The MOE is planning on offering additional training courses in the Fall of 2012. Enviro-Stewards also prepared and delivered 7 Technical Training Sessions on Toxics Reduction for the MOE during the summer of 2010.
Feel free to contact us if you have any questions about the Accounting and Planning components of the Toxics Reduction Act or if you would like assistance certifying your plan.
