CME’s July/August edition of their 20/20 magazine includes a feature article on Enviro-Stewards’ lean & clean opportunity assessment work with Carlson Engineered Composites Inc. The work was conducted under an NRC-IRAP program designed to grow and strengthen small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
During March 2010, Enviro-Stewards completed a lean and green opportunity assessment at Carlson Engineered Composites (see case study). The assessment identified lean production and cleaner production opportunities of $310,000 and $370,000 per year, respectively.
Canadian Manufacturers & Exporters (CME) and the National Research Council`s Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC IRAP) subsequently offered a lean to green training workshop for other industries in Winnipeg on March 30, 2010.
